Ulyana Sergeenko was born in Kazakhstan, then moved to St. Petersburg and had almost become a model. But strict parents did not allow daughter to get engaged in modelling business, and she was sent to study at the university.
Yet interest in fashion that has been living in Sergeenko from early childhood, took over, and in the spring of 2011 she presented her new collection. On the fashion parade the designer showed models that could be found in her own wardrobe.
Release of a debut collection took place with help of an owner of the brand “Alexander Terekhov” Oksana Lavrentieva. Soon Ulyana Sergeenko opened her own showroom.
Collections of Ulyana Sergeenko soon became regular guests of world fashion weeks, and to buy some models one needs to be put on a waiting list. Branded skirts of ankle length, dresses with floral prints, fur boas and couplings — Sergeenko has been able to create popular fashionable clothing in “Russian style”, but without exploitation of stereotypes.
