In 1999, Evgeniya Malygina created her own design studio “Pirosmani”. In April 2003, Evgeniya received a diploma with honours from the Department of Fashion Design of the St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry.
While still a student Evgeniya presented a debut collection at the capital′s Fashion Week. This was followed by a victory at the St. Petersburg stage of the competition “Russian Silhouette” with a collection “Strashno v lesu” (“Scary in the Forest”). After graduating from the academy, the designer began to work on regular collections.
In 2004 “Pirosmani” brand debuted on St. Petersburg fashion week “Defile na Neve” (“Fashion parade over Neva”), and in the spring of 2006, the fashion house took part in the Russian Fashion Week.
Designer Evgeniya Malygina believes that fashion is inseparable from art, which is why shows of her brand are much more like performances and clothes turn into full-scale art objects.
