Tatarstan will produce raw materials for textile made in Ivanovo
Ivanovo region is going to cooperate with Tatarstan to construct a plant producing PET synthetic fibers
On May, 14 in Kazan the governor of the Ivanovo region Pavel Konkov and acting president of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting.
One of the main reasons for the visit to Tatarstan was work on creating plant of synthetic polyester fibres for textile industry. Implementation of the initiative is scheduled in the industrial park “Vychuga” in Ivanovo region, currently under construction. It is expected that a large complex for production of synthetic fibres will supply about 13 sewing companies located in the industrial park.
To run such an urgent project for Russian light industry Ivanovo region needs participation of partners, in particular, Tatarstan. The fact is that production of polyethylene terephthalate needs intermediate raw materials which are synthesized at petrochemical enterprises of the republic with necessary quality.
Acting President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov confirmed at the meeting meeting with Pavel Konkov that a joint project of the Ivanovo region and the Republic of Tatarstan is included in the list of key investment programs of the Volzhsky petrochemical cluster.
In addition, Minnikhanov said that the plans for further economic cooperation of Tatarstan and the Ivanovo region presuppose substantial expansion in volume and range of trade, including the textile industry.
